Entry in the 2026 F1 Academy Rookie Test

Sara Matsui has been selected to take part in the 2026 Rookie Test for F1 ACADEMY, the all-female single-seater championship.

Only 18 drivers, chosen from around the world, are eligible to take part in this test.

Alongside fellow selectee Kokoro Sato, Sara Matsui is the first Japanese driver ever chosen for the F1 ACADEMY Rookie Test.

The test will run over three days, from September 9 to 11, at Circuito de Navarra in Spain.

Founded in 2023, F1 ACADEMY races as a support series at rounds of the FIA Formula One World Championship.

Its purpose is to develop young female drivers aiming to reach Formula 1 in the future.

Competing in F1 ACADEMY is one of Sara Matsui’s own goals.

Her first task is to show what she can do at this rookie test and to deliver a result that opens the door to what comes next — and she will be giving it everything.
